Dick Smith engaged Retail Experience to develop and deliver a set of standards to improve presentation in the Accessories category.
Charmaine met with the Dick Smith Product team and their creative agency to pull together the digital brand assets, planograms and buying plans. She then visited a wide cross section of stores, assessing the shopper journey and talking to store managers about the process of getting the product from the store room to the shop floor. This exercise revealed many opportunities for improvement, which were taken into consideration in developing the standards document.
The new layouts were physically implemented in the new Sydney city store and photos of this exercise were used in the completed document. Store managers were happy to implement the standards, as many had the opportunity for input into its development. From all reports, presentation standards and sales lifted as a direct result.
